Chef Jon's Creamy Alfredo Sauce
Ingredients
- 1 pint Heavy Cream
- ½ cup Butter French or European Butter Works Best
- 2 TBSP Cream Cheese
- 1 ½ cups Fresh Parmesan Cheese I grate my own cheese for the best flavor
- 1 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1 tsp Black Pepper
- 1 tsp Salt
Instructions
- The key to a good Alfredo sauce is ingredients and time. I use European style stick butter and grate my own Parmesan cheese. I have purchased the pre-grated cheese out of the grocers cheese section but try to stay away from brands like Kraft because of the additives.
- In a saucepan over low/medium heat combine heavy cream, butter and cream cheese. Stir constantly until butter and cream cheese have melted.
- Slowly start adding the Parmesan cheese in while continuously stirring. I usually add the cheese in thirds.
- After you have added the last of the parmesan cheese, continue stirring while adding the garlic power, salt and pepper.
- Continue stirring for 5-10 minutes until desired consistency is met. To thicken the sauce add some more parmesan cheese.
- Serve over your favorite pasta. We like Fettuccini or Penne pasta. You can also add some steamed broccoli or grilled chicken with your dish.
