The key to a good Alfredo sauce is ingredients and time. I use European style stick butter and grate my own Parmesan cheese. I have purchased the pre-grated cheese out of the grocers cheese section but try to stay away from brands like Kraft because of the additives.
In a saucepan over low/medium heat combine heavy cream, butter and cream cheese. Stir constantly until butter and cream cheese have melted.
Slowly start adding the Parmesan cheese in while continuously stirring. I usually add the cheese in thirds.
After you have added the last of the parmesan cheese, continue stirring while adding the garlic power, salt and pepper.
Continue stirring for 5-10 minutes until desired consistency is met. To thicken the sauce add some more parmesan cheese.
Serve over your favorite pasta. We like Fettuccini or Penne pasta. You can also add some steamed broccoli or grilled chicken with your dish.
